Alarm Sensors
Listed below are some of the common alarm sensors we sell for securing your boat. If what you need is not shown here, drop us an
email as we most likely have a sensor to suit your requirements.
See the warning sensors page for details on shore power, fire, smoke and bilge monitoring.
To purchase any of these sensors or for more information please contact your local marine electrician or the BlueRay sales office, nearest you.

Cockpit/Deck Trespass Detectors
These sensors are glued under the deck/cockpit floor and detect people walking on the boat. Great for sounding the alarm before the thieves damage the boat by breaking in.
Combine this with the BlueRay system automatically turning the deck lights and siren on and the trespasser will leave very quickly. These sensors can also be used inside to boat for covert protection.

Walkway and Flybridge Entry Detectors
These industrial grade beam sensors detect trespassers in walkways or flybridge entry hatches. These will also aid in sounding the alarm before they break in and damage the boat.
Hatch/Door Reed Switches
These small sealed reed switches are ideal for detecting thieves opening doors and hatches. (See also Heavy Duty Reeds below.)

Heavy Duty Reed Switches
These industrial grade reed switches are specifically for areas subject to higher wear and tear such as engine room hatches and lockers.

Proximity Switches
These industrial grade tubular reed switches are installed where the switch needs to be concealed or where two surfaces mate together.
Movement Detectors
For protecting cabins, saloons and corridors, this is dual technology movement detectors to minimise false alarms. (Standard PIR's can react to heat and generate false alarms in boats.)
Hidden Camera
This movement detector has a built in camera for taking covert pictures of the trespasser. The pictures can be digitally signed for use by police in a court of law.
Pressure Mats
For detecting intruders in walkways. These are used where the boats battery capacity is low and prohibits the use of trespass detectors.
Power Consumption Considerations
Most boats have a finite battery capacity*. The BlueRay Marine security systems are designed to operate reliably on the lowest power capacity boat, even a car battery will run the BlueRay system for many months. However the battery capacity will, if low, (less than 100 Ah) constrain the number of active sensors that can be fitted. Active sensors include; trespass detectors, beam detectors and movement detectors.
Multiple passive sensors such as reed switches, pressure mats and bilge switches may be fitted on lower capacity boats without trouble.
* Even boats on marina's with shore power need to consider battery capcity as they may spend time cruising.
